PUSH-IT at the BEOS conference

Our researcher Elke Mugova from the MTES pilot site in Bochum attended the BEOS conference (Business of Energy Opportunities Show) in London, where she gained valuable insights that will benefit our ongoing efforts in the PUSH-IT project.

Top 3 Lessons from the PUSH-IT project to the audience:

  1. Collaboration within European projects is essential; we can learn from different technologies and locations.
  2. While there are numerous applications for low temperature heat storage, why are high temperature solutions still less explored?
  3. Enabling technologies are crucial and we need to prioritise social engagement in our initiatives.

Top 3 Lessons Learned from the conference:

  1. Geothermal topics are gaining traction in the oil and gas industry, opening up new opportunities.
  2. The increasing focus on underground storage can provide valuable lessons for our heat storage efforts.
  3. Engaging a different audience, particularly from the business as well as oil and gas sectors, may introduce innovative ideas to our project.

A hopeful outlook for progress towards a sustainable heat system: Rapid implementation and expansion of HT-UTES sites offer substantial potential for progress.

And another good experience to share: Check out this video. Elke used it as an introduction to the presentation. Now all participants will remember PUSH-IT the next time they drink hot tea …
